Alex Gyllstrom of Whitetail Properties hops on the podcast for an excellent conversation about hunting and working in the hunting industry. Dan and Alex start the conversation off discussing how his turkey season has been and then it transitions in to how he got his got his foot in the door in the hunting industry cold calling several companies at the age of 16. All that cold calling paid off as he was able land an internship at a popular hunting company. The rest is history.
Alex grew up in a hunting family with his father and an uncle being a huge influence and mentors in his hunting career. He already had a passion for hunting but once he got his hands on a bow, the game changed. As a bowhunter, and like most of us, he learned a lot from the mistakes. Those mistakes led him to become more comfortable around mature deer. We also talk about the difference between going with your gut versus data driven decision making while hunting.
We close the podcast down with Alex sharing one of his most memorable hunting moments on an elk hunt with his father. This is an awesome episode, PERIOD! Enjoy.
