It is very encouraging to sit back and listen to the root of development for the Ruffed Grouse Society. This group takes habitat management to the next level. It is critical that ruffed grouse have young forest under 15 years old in their home ranges. This woody regeneration creates forage opportunities, nesting cover, drumming logs, and various other necessities that allow the ruffed grouse to persist. By now, you know how important that is for other species and the forest itself.
